Just crossed the mighty Mississippi in Iowa. Interesting night sleep - no vacancy anywhere as we sort of expected. Set up beside a river, not knowing on the other side was a very active railway... we all slept well after our 13 hour adventure of getting there... border crossing, puke, no ac, finding a mechanic, ac fixed, fed and hunting for a camping spot.

Many thanks to the services of Mr. Valentine who opened up his shop to service our van (29 plus humidity by that time.) During our 3 hour break, he offered us his vehicle and an air conditioned lounge. After returning from a walk, they had ordered pizza for us. They even offered their staff a bonus to stay and assist us. If you ever need a mechanic just east of Chicago, they are the ones for you... off to ??????
