Australia Day

Monday found us heading into Mt. Eliza in the morning for breakfast, flag raising , speeches and songs in the middle of the village. That day we decided to wear our Canadian T shirts and put Aussie flag transfers for our faces and arms.

In the afternoon we went to Mornington where they had activities in the park/beach area for the kids. Keegan got a boomerang to paint and participated in a tug of war contest. We met some staff from school and a few fellow Canadians.

The evening found us at a barbeque with some new friends. There we got to enjoy lots of good food and an Aussie favourite, lamb.

We could tell Kira had a good day when she started singing the words to Waltzing Matilda which she heard several times that day. All in all it was a long but enjoyable day.
